Set amongst classic Tuscan olive groves, the Villa’s private chapel of St Thomas the Apostle can trace its origins to the 17th century when it was the place of worship for the family of the Counts Bastogi, the Florentine owners of the Montalbano estate. Since then, it has provided an inspiring and romantic setting for many special weddings. While it was beautifully and faithfully restored in 2005, it has hardly changed over the centuries and continues to provide a small, personalised setting for an intimate family wedding with up to around 30 participants. The chapel enjoys a close relationship with St Mark’s English Church (Anglican) in Florence, though being ecumenical it is suitable for all Christian denominations. More information about St Mark’s English Church can be found on their website.
